Privacy Policy

Video Download Free helps users detect and save downloadable browser media streams. We design the product so downloads are handled in the browser. We do not operate a server-side video proxy and we do not upload video files to our servers.

Information processed by the extension

The extension may inspect media requests, video elements, page titles, media URLs, thumbnails, headers, and basic file metadata in the active browser tab to identify downloadable media and prepare a download task.

Some task data may be stored temporarily in browser-managed storage so the popup and downloader page can recover task information after a page refresh or extension service worker restart.

Downloader task page

The downloader page receives task data from the extension in the URL hash or through extension messaging. URL hashes are not sent to our web server as part of normal HTTP requests. The task page may show generic stream information while keeping source titles and covers hidden on the page.

Information we do not collect

We do not ask users to create an account for the core download feature. We do not sell personal information. We do not intentionally collect the videos you download, your downloaded files, or the contents of private pages.

Third-party services

Our website may be hosted and protected by Cloudflare. We may use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and basic product events, such as when the downloader task page is opened, a download is started, or a prepared file is saved. These analytics events do not intentionally include source page URLs, media URLs, video titles, file names, task IDs, or downloaded video files.

We may use advertising services, including Google AdSense, to support the free product. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies and cookie practices.

Your choices

You can remove the extension from your browser at any time. You can also clear browser extension data through your browser settings. If you contact us by email, we will use your email address only to respond to your request and handle support.
